The Manifestation of God’s Peace
(All Bible verses quoted are from the New King James Version)
2 Pet 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
This verse clearly states that peace comes to us through the knowledge of Jesus, in other words, through knowing Him. Peace does not come by praying for it. The more we get to know God, the more His peace will rule our hearts. As we meditate upon His word, spend time in His wonderful presence, our minds will start thinking on how great and big He is, and how small our problems really are! The key is our thoughts.
Prov 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
If you dwell upon you bad circumstances, continually thinking about the worst possible outcome, walking in your unbelief, something’s got to be wrong with you if you don’t become depressed!! Proverbs says that a man will be as he thinks in his heart. When you are thinking upon our great God, occupying your thoughts with His love, His promises & delighting yourself in Him, it will not be long before His Kingdom will invade yours, bringing with it heaven’s resources, including healing, deliverance, prosperity & joy!
It is a choice though. We have to CHOOSE what we think about. Yes we can control our thoughts:
Col 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. We have to LET God’s peace rule in our hearts, we can actually choose not to let it rule.
So if you are depressed, discouraged or living life daily, worrying about your “uncontrollable” circumstances, remember it all starts with our thoughts. Change your thinking by spending time in the word of God, and learn to know Him.
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
Yours in Grace
